In this video and post, I’ll show you how to create a simple and colourful tulip flower arrangement with just three materials from the garden, perfect for spring.
Creating a simple tulip flower arrangement for spring
We’re currently in the beautiful tulip season, and I’m excited to share that I’ve picked the very first tulips that have blossomed in my garden!
I thought it would be lovely to create a simple flower arrangement that truly showcases the tulips as the stars of the show, along with some delicate blossom.
To add a touch of foliage, I decided to cut some fresh growth from the base of the pear tree. I’m not quite sure what they’re called, but they always grow at the bottom of the pear tree (I don’t know what you would call them but they always grow up at the bottom of the pear tree, are they suckers?). They have a bright, light green colour that complements the flower colours beautifully, creating a harmonious combination.
With just these three elements, let’s create a simple tulip flower arrangement and see the magic unfold!
To maintain balance, I aim to use roughly a third of each material. This means a third of tulips as the focal flowers, a third of blossom as filler flowers, and a third of the pear stems as foliage.
I’ll start by making a loose arrangement, adding each item in a regular sequence. As I work on it, I’ll gradually turn the arrangement to ensure it looks beautiful from every angle. To add a finishing touch, I’ll place some small pieces of foliage around the edges.
And finally, the last step is to trim off the ends of the stems.

And there we have it, a quick and easy arrangement for spring, making the most of all of the Tulips and blossom that’s around at the moment.
Enjoy your gorgeous tulip flower arrangement!
