Welcome to our guide on how to grow Orlaya Grandiflora, a beautiful white lace-like flower. Orlaya Grandiflora is renowned for its delicate charm and early blooming characteristics. Being one of the first umbellifers to bloom, it brings an element of grace to any garden. It is floriferous, has a long flowering period, and is appealing to insects.
What is Orlaya Grandiflora
Orlaya Grandiflora is a member of the Orlaya genus, which includes several species of flowering hardy annual plants. It belongs to the family Apiaceae and is commonly referred to as the White Lace Flower. The genus name “Orlaya” is derived from the Greek word “oros,” meaning mountain, possibly indicating its natural habitat.
The sweet Orlaya Grandiflora typically reaches a height of around 60 cms when fully grown. Its delicate white flowers resemble lace, creating a captivating display in the garden.
To successfully grow Orlaya Grandiflora, it is important to provide it with the right growing conditions. This plant thrives in well-draining soil and prefers a sunny or partially shaded location.

How to grow Orlaya:
- Orlaya can be direct-sown into the garden in the autumn or start seed indoors in trays 6 weeks before last frost.
- Transplant out while the weather is still cool.
- Seed can be tricky to start indoors, so pop seeds into the freezer for 10 to 14 days before sowing to speed up germination.
- Plants can tolerate a light frost.
- Sow seed in autumn for early-flowering large plants
